Embrace reality and change! They are on their way!
The second New Moon in October, occurs on 30th at approximately 17:38 in Scorpio. (Full Moon in Taurus 14th November.)
It’s time again to consider the implications of the New Moon and to set our intentions for the coming month. The energy of this one is intense. How can we best make use of the passion and depth of Scorpio before we start the journey towards the next New Moon (on 29th November)? Have we got the courage to prepare for the journey underground to examine what may be hidden deep within us? What’s the best way to start a ‘deep clean’ in the month ahead, one that presents an opportunity for a new beginning with less unnecessary luggage? The process could lead to a complete transformation of ourselves and even the world around us.
Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac. It’s fixed and resists change but is often the catalyst of extreme transformation nevertheless. It reminds us of all that is usually shrouded in mystery – some more hidden and secret than others – but all things that are often concealed. Of course a Scorpio New Moon happens every year and the issues it presents to us are usually tucked out of the way. How often do we choose to face our own secrets and bring our feelings about ‘murky’ issues like sex, death, rebirth, corruption, misleading information, crime and magic into the open? Our attitudes and experiences in these things form our psychological makeup. It’s sometimes painful to look but it’s that time of year! Let’s start digging, diving and working towards truth and honesty J.
Here are some issues that we could think about before the Scorpio New Moon starts up the engine of this new lunar cycle:
What have we been hiding from ourselves? What’s the nature of the ‘dust’ we’ve swept under the carpet that we were going to deal with later?
Ruled by the Great Transformer Pluto, Scorpio, although a fixed sign, will make us conscious of any stagnancy which has become hard to contain and will sooner or later force change. The position of this New Moon in your chart (approx. 8 degrees of Scorpio) and the issues it touches will have an influence on how intense an impact the energy will have.
This New Moon is closely conjunct to Mercury. Good! We should at least be able to communicate our ‘inner’ issues with others. We can access Mercury to help us be clear in our urge to get to the honest bottom of situations that need sorting. Hippocracy and secrecy will ‘out’! Others may want to communicate their deeper issues too. There’s a whole lot of ‘delving’ going on. Keep your cards close to your chest (it may be painful) or take advantage of this energy, let it all hang out and wash that dirty laundry! Release!
The involvement of Chiron and Neptune in the mix indicates the need to look at our past wounds and mistakes a difficult painful process but potentially liberating if we can forgive both ourselves and others. There’s an opportunity for healing. Time to ask ourselves, “What went wrong?” let go and resolve to make a new start. Positive transformation is worth effort even if it involves some confusion, acknowledgement of ‘blame’ and a smattering of possible ‘victims’ in the process.
There’s an urge to ‘sweep clean’ and clear confusion, to create new patterns within us and to clear the old. Neptune stimulates our vision, spiritual awareness and the ability to tune in to the collective consciousness. Here’s also an opportunity to rekindle past dreams. We could suddenly be motivated to follow past dreams and create new ones. Let’s allow the inspiration coming from the transformation process of this New Moon to create the freedom to do what we’ve always wanted to do!
The New Moon sextile the North Node sprinkles a light dusting of fairy dust helping positive outcomes if we ‘go with the flow’. Meanwhile, the Jupiter (Libra)/Pluto (Capricorn) square creates part of the ‘background story’ against which The New Moon takes place. It indicates the presence of ‘hidden treasure’. What more resources within us could we find if we look deep down within us?
IN A MUNDANE KIND OF WAY……
We are also becoming more aware of wealth, knowledge and resources hidden and kept from us in the outside world. The need for deep scrutiny and revelation applies, it seems, outside as well as within. The US Presidential election on 8th November, (six days before the culmination of the nature of this energy at the Full Moon in Taurus on 14th) reflects inevitable changes. At the time of writing, the result isn’t known but the candidates seem perhaps to represent Scorpio’s stubbornness, need for drama and dislike of change of any real depth! Important issues are being concealed and our attentions diverted.
There is a lot of information to digest (Mercury conjunct New Moon)! Changes both inside and outside us, are likely to be temporarily confusing until we get used to them. This New Moon could initiate both the restructure of our personal psychology and changes in the psyche of the collective. Transformation of some kind seems inevitable. Given the aspects, it seems that he dam of tensions, kept relatively contained until now, is ripe for a dramatic burst of some kind!
On one hand, some people see the importance of real change and, on the other there are those who hold on to old patterns and concepts. There may be further confusion and attempts to conceal and manipulate as truth inevitably emerges. We are more aware of the contrast between those who are wealthy and those who are not for instance. Increased polarization of social thinking might well be part of a Scorpionic process before a vision of a fairer society can be considered by some who want things to remain as they are. The ‘mud’, however, may well be about to hit the fan.
We may become aware, this month, exactly what principles and aims, which visions for the future are most important to us – and who we love and need to keep close at this turbulent time. Embrace reality and change. They are on their way!
