The time has come to make strong decisions, to say what needs to be said and to do what needs to be done once and for all! This is the full experience! Step up! Step up! Let’s use this gift of vibrant Aries energy wisely to create and share positive energy throughout the world!

The new Moon in Aries on 28th March asks us to think and to act quickly, decisively and positively. There’s a sense of urgency – a feeling of ‘act now before it’s too late!’ – that is undeniable. It will permeate our personal lives and be reflected in what we see happening in the world around us. Here is the opportunity to make our wishes and intentions for what we need to both nurture our egos and to get on with anything that calls for straightforward focus and physical energy. We have experienced and explored the spiritual and egalitarian energies of the new Moons of Pisces and Aquarius through the last two lunar months. We’ve been encouraged by the Universe to delve deeply and to access what we need to nurture and sustain us in our journeys. Now comes the turn of the Fire Sign, Aries, to assist us in focusing on our own strength, energy and purpose on action.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. It begins as the Sun, on the equator at the Spring Equinox (this year – 20th March, 10.28am), starts its journey into the northern hemisphere. At the new Moon, we will be eight days into the Aries journey. The image is of a young warrior, strong and athletic running through the countryside, his hair streaming out behind him. He’s a pioneer – running fearlessly into the future! His face and body communicate enthusiasm, strength of purpose and some ego! He acts from determination, focus and a passion for action. He is so focused that anything that gets in his way could be swept aside without much politeness or sensitivity. He is spontaneous. If we attempt to stop him in his progress, he will answer impatiently and aggressively. His manner is expressive of his focus and we can expect an impulsive explosion if we dare to interrupt his flow. He doesn’t have time. He’s on a mission. He’s occasionally prone to spontaneous outbursts of aggression. So it’s best to think clearly and rationally about our intentions and what wishes we want to make for the coming lunar month before Aries starts his fiery, speedy and determined influence on our lives.

Here are some suggestions for issues to consider before this new Moon. By the time you wake up on Tuesday 28th March, the Aries new Moon, together with your deepest and most spontaneous desires, will be up and running. Some reflections for action:

• The light is returning and with it, our courage and focus! What issues do I see, newly illuminated within me, that may have been lying dormant throughout the winter months?
• Which areas of my life could benefit from an injection of some fresh, vibrant, Spring-like energy?
• What needs immediate attention? What issues should I focus on that would benefit from quick and positive outcomes?
• Where, and in what ways, do I need, urgently, to make new beginnings? What lose ends do I need to tie up? What new ideas can I put into motion?
• It’s ‘me time’! What do I most need at this time in my life? What will feed my soul? How can I feed my own, precious ego?
• What new, fast growing seeds can I sow to improve my personal performance? What needs a quick injection of determination, initiative and strength?
• What do I need to do to ‘out run’ and leave behind what has been complicating or confusing my progress and my focus on the future?

IN A MUNDANE KIND OF WAY

With Venus on one side of the Moon/Sun conjunction and Uranus and Mercury close together on the other side, the Aries energy of this new Moon is amplified. There’s a ‘volatility’ surrounding us – the sound of ‘feedback’ that needs to be dealt with. Jupiter opposite Uranus and Mercury will turn up the volume even higher until we listen to his challenge to act in as big and decisive a way as he demands. A hard aspect to Saturn calls for the need for decisive action in order to help bring about order and structure.

There is huge power within the energy of this new Moon – as if we are waiting for the Grand Finale and the final explosion at a firework display. In the light of that explosion, possibilities of  new structures are likely to have become illuminated – perhaps by the time we approach the full Moon on the 11th April. We must keep our intentions positive! As above, so below – as within so without. The various crisis we are experiencing outside us in the world may come to an almighty crescendo during the buildup of energy through the first half of this lunar month. The Aries new Moon throws down the proverbial gauntlet and demands decisions, a fight, a resolution of some kind. Cards have to be placed firmly on the table and issues thrashed out. Changes have to be made and fair decisions acted on – because, despite Aries’ straightforwardness and courage, also within the energy, there is the danger of aggressive, opinionated, thoughtless and egotistical outbursts if the energy is held back by unfairness or duplicity.

So it’s important that we all remain aware of ego and guard against compulsive and dangerous impulses as we fire our own rockets – and as we watch and hear the rockets and explosions going off all around us. At the new Moon, the beginning of every new lunar month we, as both individuals and as part of our collective humanity, have yet another opportunity for a new beginning. Aries takes the initiative and runs with a torch that illuminates inspiration and decisive action.

Rarely, throughout history, could the particular energy and strength of this Aries new Moon have been more needed! The rebellion and the high energy in the mix call for us to determinedly manifest what we believe is right. Mercury assists with clear and direct communication and Venus nurtures with a sense of fairness and peaceful awareness of what is necessary to achieve balance. However, my feeling is that the world may have changed considerably by the time the new Moon in Taurus arrives on the 26th April.
