Last Christmas post: FRIDAY 20th DECEMBER
New Moon in Gemini 6th June 13:38
Full Moon in Sagittarius 22nd June
The Gemini New Moon is in exact conjunction with Venus.
The planet of love lends her pleasure-seeking focus to the Moon in Gemini, the sign of changes, chats and connections. This New Moon is a collaborative effort. There is an emphasis on the pleasure of like minds. Beauty will be found in moments of genuine connection and good conversation. This energy is exciting, fizzing with potential and quick connectivity.
Mercury at home in Gemini, is conjunct Jupiter, planet of good fortune and expansion. Mercury wants to talk and Jupiter ensures that we are heard and believed. Gemini, the sign of the mutable split, is ruled by the trickster planet Mercury who is both a sharp, witty commentator and a cheerful playmaker all at once. There is a need to be on our toes. Binary opposition, changes which happen with the flick of a switch, quicken the pace of new directions and bubbles enthusiasm into new beginnings.
Connections now flutter fast as butterflies, a quick buzz of energy linking moments, people and matters of consideration. Jupiter is blessing this New Moon with luck and abundance. Chance after chance to find connection and understanding. Like a fizzy sweet, Venus in Gemini is both saccharine and eye wateringly exciting whilst at the same time, driving us to make variations which feel pleasurable and give us a sense of freedom. New beginnings can be found through changing things up. Mutable energy is amplified and the cosmos is demanding that we are flexible, that we free our minds and hearts to the possibility of liberating ourselves. This New Moon in Gemini hates to be pinned down, demanding the right for the option to change our minds and hearts and to flutter freely wherever it needs to go. There is a potent sense of things being in flux which is very exciting. The only thing which is certain is that nothing stays the same.
Saturn has something to say in this conversation. In Pisces and connecting to the Moon with a square, there is a need to speak with sensitivity and to set intentions compassionately. Great ideas are sparking, one after another, mercurially quick, which need to be appropriately contained to prevent them from slipping away like quicksilver and flowing away to live forever in the land of pipe dreams…
Saturn squares emphasise blockages and barriers which need to be overcome and this may lead to feelings of frustrations and impatience. Saturn does not sit particularly easily in Pisces and, in square to this New Moon energy which is hasty and keen, Saturn may encourage some of us into a sense of avoidance or putting things off because the ideal outcome cannot be guaranteed.
To alleviate the tension of this square, action is encouraged by Mars and Chiron, again acting together in Aries. Venus and the New Moon, in sextile to Mars, are being energised by this fire. The more details revealed, the more Mars feels compelled to do something about it, whatever ‘it’ may be.
Mars in Aries can feel combative, aggressive. But this is not a malicious force, rather a somewhat mercenary physical manifestation of will. An urge to move towards what we feel passionate about, to stand up and fight, and to strike whilst our metaphorical iron is hot. Women especially can find this transit a little uncomfortable. Conditioned against rash behaviour and encouraged towards exercising restraint and holding back, it can be hard to admit what makes us feel enraged. This is emphasized with Chiron in Aries, remembering the karma of female energy which has long been driven down and kept shut away.
But Mars in Aries is connecting with the divine feminine Venus in talkative Gemini and Jupiter has handed her a megaphone. Together, they ensure that the voice of the feminine will not be held back. There is a driving force for change which is being challenged by the square to Pluto, now retrograde in Aquarius. Pluto demands that the truth serve the people, whilst Mars is just ready to don armour and take up the fight, any fight, especially if it involves avenging old wounds. This is furious healing. The kind of no nonsense, get to it, grab the splinter and pull, attitude of a Mars in Aries matron with a smart kind of sympathy. ‘Yes, yes, I know it hurts, but it’s time to get it sorted now…’ she says as she heats up the needle and moves with alarming speed and accuracy.
The New Moon is at the anchor point of a T square formation between the Ascendant and Neptune, in Pisces, on the descendant. There is a focus between how things appear to be and the truth of how they really are. The New Moon offers an opportunity to redefine how we present ourselves, to choose between appearing sensible with the Virgo ascendant or to immerse ourselves in the process of finding our true self and helping others, the Neptunian pull. This opposition indicates that there is a choice to be made and there is temptation to martyr ourselves to the cause whichever way we choose.
The square between the New Moon and the Ascendant asks us how we feel about controlling the details we share with the world – the narrative of the first impression. In contrast, the square between the New Moon and Neptune asks us to give deep contemplation to what we may want to reveal. How far do we really want to go? What makes sense now? What may be revealed by picking off the top layer and letting details slip?
Pluto, the planet of power, transformation and healing of taboo is in a Grand Trine with Mercury and Jupiter conjunct and the Ascendant. Truth and the story we choose to tell is guaranteed to be transformational. There is an ease to speak honestly now and to make connections which heal wounds, especially if they impact the collective.
Guided Meditation
Let’s blow bubbles together… Take a breath deep into your lungs and, as you blow it out, controlled and slow, let it pass through the wand in front of you and create a beautiful, shining bubble… Watch as the bubble rolls gently free and is lifted through the air. Now, let’s blow another one. This time, as you blow, let yourself make a wish. Don’t think about it too much. You can make as many as you want. They may not all come true, all at once, but every breath you bless with your intent is being infused with potential for a new beginning. Breathe in, and out, making bubbles and sending out the wishes which make your heart feel light. Watch as you see all around you, glistening, pretty, bubbles. Some are swirling and large, some tiny and sparkling in the sunlight. Everyone, as it pops open, releases your precious wish into the universe to be fulfilled. These bubbles don’t last long but each one has the power to change the world. Trust that the right wish will be fulfilled at the right time. Let yourself relax into the process of blowing these bubbles, as many as you like. The beauty of this New Moon is teaching us that another wish, another choice, another bubble, can always be created.
