This is the first New Moon of the Astrological New Year, and it’s also a solar eclipse. Aries New Moons are always symbolic of new beginnings. With the positive power of a solar eclipse, this also heralds unexpected opportunities and groundbreaking fresh starts which heal old wounds.

The pioneering spirit of Aries infuses this celestial starting point with the enthusiasm for getting things going, for taking action and following our impulses. What we feel passionate about is being highlighted. Flames of excitement are in the air. Sparked by the fire of Aries and fueled by an electrically charged upcoming conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus, and fanned by the force of Pluto at 1 degree of air sign Aquarius. Inevitable transformation is here – NOW. The power of this event is unmistakable. Time to see where we wish to go and to jump into the driving seat. Major shake ups and changes are inevitable. Jupiter and Uranus are stirring a hunger for these shifts.

Chiron is in exact conjunction with the Sun and Moon at 19 degrees of Aries. This highlights precisely where we have been wounded. The exactitude of the cut may feel acutely painful. But Chiron in this sign shows us that there is great power in that pain. It is ours to feel. We can own our hurt and choose to heal. Mercury is also in the orb of conjunction in this dynamic Aries stellium, retrograde at 24 degrees. This represents connections and communication which help the healing process. Mercury retrograde brings up memories to sort. Old connections and forgotten friendships may emerge to support us now. The threads which weave between our lives, tying us together and to the past are being re-energised by Mercury’s journey back through Aries. Mercury is seeking out positive connections and pulling at threads of truth to tie them into the action of change.
