Time to activate our energy so that the new shoots, born from deep under our earth, can begin to grow. The sap that fires our actions and ideas and that essence within us that encourages growth shudders and shakes itself into action both within us and around us. Aquarius is about new ideas, humanity, our environment and the ways that we assert our individuality. It encourages our unique contribution to the collective consciousness.

The image is of a young man, tanned and fit – preparing himself for travel. He researches before he leaves and gains as much knowledge as he can for the journey. He wants a clear picture of the road ahead and his heart is alight with possibilities. He can be both detached and objective in his views but he is also prepared to take passionate responsibility, not only for himself but also for the people he will meet and the environment through which he will walk this Lunar Month. He knows that the gift he offers to the world is his uniqueness and his ability to see from his own, individual viewpoint. He is fiercely humanitarian, compassionate and empathetic. He is prepared to speak out, to argue, to discuss and to share his thoughts – to make changes where he feels change is necessary.

Aquarius is an Air sign, Fixed and ruled by Uranus, the rebel, the innovator, the revolutionary. Uranus also rules technology, computers and new scientific inventions. The 15th February is an opportunity to become aware of our uniqueness and our own individuality. What can we contribute to the world that no one else can? The New Moon occurs at the time of a Solar Eclipse (at 27 degrees of Aquarius) – a powerful ‘new beginning’ intensified by the fact that Uranus himself is sextile to this point in the Universe and square Jupiter. We are ready to burst with new potential and big ideas. In fact, we must! We are challenged at this moment to do so. There is an urgent need for humanity to create new ways of thinking and communicating – of functioning. Mercury, the communicator – encouraging quick thinking and spontaneity – is tightly conjunct the show and is centre stage together with the New Moon/Solar eclipse. Ideas and flashes of intuition potentially abound and, if we open to the boundless possibilities and potential around us before the month begins, we can fully enable the flow from us into the collective consciousness and beyond, creating momentum and strength. Rarely will there a better time than this astrological point in the Universe to ‘reset’ the patterns of our lives, our emotions, our actions and to focus on our most creative individual approaches. Into the Future!

Here are some issues to focus on as we make our intentions and wishes before the New Moon and Solar Eclipse sparks off the beginning of this Lunar Month on 15th February:

• What do I do well? What are my most unique gifts and talents? How can I use them most positively this month?
• What do I think are the most important current issues that humanity has today? What more can I do to communicate my views and to contribute to important changes?
• How can I review and ‘reset’ my emotions so that they are in line with the new world of possibilities open to us all this month?
• How can I ‘declutter’ my life? What conflicts, grudges and barriers do I need to offload? What new behaviours do I need to pick up in order to go forward into the excitement of this approaching Lunar Month?
• How can I make wider connections with others?
• When and in what ways can I give myself quiet time this month during which to detach and to see myself and the world around me objectively – the ‘wider picture’?

IN A MUNDANE KIND OF WAY

The planets in our Universe continue, unusually, to all be moving in a forward direction from the vantage point of the Earth until March. The Solar eclipse together with the New Moon in Aquarius this month encourages us, amongst other things, to simplify our lives – to spring clean. There is an extremely strong focus of Aquarian energy. Hopefully, the general trend of the politics of countries, both internally and in relationship to each other, will reflect this energy. Hopefully also, the importance of connecting with each other – as opposed to the creation of even more barriers – will seep into the collective consciousness. Time for healing and for increased awareness of the need for equality. We may see some suitably ‘out of the box’ innovative solutions to current world problems.

There are some interesting transits to the chart of both the USA and its president this month including indications of some revelations concerning broken laws and legalities. There is both rebellion and illumination. Mercury and Jupiter are encouraging ‘break throughs’, ‘break outs’ and ‘big and bright ideas’. There could be surprising news that potentially affects the whole world and results in change on a grand scale. Politicians might even change their minds about matters that they have been disastrously sticking their toes firmly in the mud about for years – and pigs might fly! Seriously – we must prepare to be shocked and to adjust to changing circumstances. Both Aquarius within which the astrological events on 27th occur – and Scorpio, within which Jupiter is squaring the event are in fixed signs – and when fixed is forced to change, effects can be sudden and revelatory. The truth will ‘out’.

We are individual souls travelling together on our journeys through life, learning what we can from the lessons we attract towards us in order that we can develop. Some may argue this possibility but, nevertheless, it’s obvious that we are living alongside a particular collection of people throughout our lives. The message, this Lunar Month, is that the more connections we make with each other, the more love and compassion shared, the better the journey will be. Aquarian energy creates an awareness of how much we can be connected as opposed to highlighting the differences and conflicts between us. Last month, the accent was on knowledge and structure. This month is the one where we can explore our intuition and the similarities between us all and the connections between us. This is potentially a powerful new beginning for all of us.
