The phase of the Moon can be found
EASILY by turning two dials. This is an A4 sheet
with two circluar dials and full instructions
on the reverse. Use the first dial to align the
pointer to the equivalent year then the second
to align the month. Once both dials are in place
simply look at the date you want to find out
the phase.
Perfect for forward planning outdoor
events or celebrations which are specific to
the phase of the moon - or to find the Moon phase
you where born under!
How it works
The Moon Phase Calculator is easy to use and
finding the lunar phase for any date is learnt
in a couple of minutes. The calculator is based
on a calculation discovered by the ancient
Greek astronomer Meton - his calculation is
called the METONIC
CYCLE -

Find the phase of the
Moon for the 17th of September 2001
Step
one
Find the equivalent year in the table below the
main dial.
In this case we are going to use the year 2001
as an example - so here the equivalent year to
2001 is 2020
Step 2
Line the dial up to the equivalent year - 2020
Align the inner dial to the pointer -
in this case, align Sept to the pointer
Step 3
Refer to the inner dial and go to 17 to find the
phase of the Moon on the 17th of September 2001
Simple isn't it!
